REBUILDING OF A FIXING EYELET OR SUPPORT OF A BUMPER - VIDEO LINK
![]() | STEP 1 Clean the bumper damaged area with the cutter (code 31815) scraping away any paint rest so not to pollute the new plastic when melting. |
![]() | STEP 2 Before starting plastic welding, take the aluminium plates and the clamps (code 31880) and fix them below the area where the plastic strips will be melted and the bumper support will be rebuilt. |
![]() ![]() | STEP 3 Use one of the various MWM plastic welders, choosing between Nitrogen plastic welding or Compressed Air plastic welding. Heat with the heating gun the area on which the plastic strip will be welded; move slowly with the tip of the heating gun following the plastic strip until the damage on the bumper is fully covered. Check correct grip, including the edges, and check that plastic strips is perfectly welded to plastic bumper. |
![]() | STEP 4 Weld any further plastic strip to do the finishing and after that use the roller to smooth it out, squeeze air microbubbles which might have been created during the welding and finish. |
![]() | STEP 5 Repeat the same sequence of operations on both bumper sides to achieve a higher strength and resistance of the repaired part after the repair is made. Press with the clamp after uniformly heating up the material welded. |
